Our network boasts over 8Gbps (8,000mbps) of bandwidth connectivity. We have handpicked premium providers and peering arrangements to ensure your IP transit networks are always hosted at lightning speeds and with multiple redundant routes to ensure the fastest times to reach any destination worldwide. IPSS Network Equipment: IPSS’s network operates on industry leading network equipment from Cisco Systems. All
our switches and routers are developed by Cisco. Our network is based on gigabit technology, which means that it runs at a speed of 1000 Mb per second - whereas most web hosting networks are limited to 100 Mb per second. Our network also utilizes 100% CAT6 network cable, which contains four pairs of copper wire and, unlike CAT5, utilizes all four pairs. CAT6 supports Gigabit (1000 Mbps) Ethernet and supports communications at more than twice the speed of CAT5e, which is the other popular standard for Gigabit Ethernet cabling.

  • Gigabit technology based network, which means that it runs at a speed of 1000Mbps, whereas most Data Center networks are limited to 100Mbps.

  • Our core BGP+ network is built on Cisco 6500 series switches running 720 3BXL supervisors, connected to our core server network based on Cisco 3500 series catalyst switches. IPSS’s chose the latest Cisco switches to be at the heart of its internal core network. 
  • Each unit runs a combination of 10/100, 10/100/1000 along with short haul fiber interfaces and functions fully redundantly. IPSS’s maintain a full set of spares, including chassis, blades, power supply units, and supervisor modules for entire network Cisco gear

Network Redundancy and Dark Fiber Providers

From our redundant core, we supply two diverse network connections from two separate core switches. While only one connection is used to route traffic, the second connection is a hot-standby circuit ready to route traffic in the event of problem. The change-over to the hot-standby circuit happens instantly without any changes to the network configuration.

Fastest Route, Less Hops, Less Latency

Most Enterprise-ISP networks send traffic to its destination using Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). BGP is a network protocol that chooses how to send information through the Internet based upon the fewest number of available network hops. One challenge with BGP is that it does not take individual network quality or performance into account when making these routing decisions. Using BGP alone is not enough to ensure predictable network performance.

IPSS Power Infrastructure

At IPSS’s power is fed into our Colocation facility from two utility power grids backed by redundant N+2 diesel generators with 72 hour fuel reserve. In addition, we have our own onsite power substation that provides our customers unlimited upgradeable power, redundant intelligent Liebert UPS AC backup systems, and multiple feeds for client hardware with more than one power supply.


Our state of the art colocation facility is equipped with N+2 redundancy power equipment if by any chance an event of a power failure should ever occur at our data center facility. From our all fully redundant PDU’s, Transfer Switches, Dual UPS units and two standalone generators, all have at least one redundant component, some even two, to ensure that our power stability is never affected. We also regularly test our components by doing heavy load and failover testing to ensure that all components are functioning properly at all time. This is one of the main components that make our organization a step above many others.


One of the most important decisions we made when building IPSS's was taking into account redundancy. This means from a customer’s perspective you never have to worry about a power outage. Our colocation facility has dual power feeds, PDU’s, transfer switches, UPS, and generators. We also have our own power substation on site that provides over 10.15MVA of power for customers looking to expand their environment; you’ll never be stuck when you need to upgrade your amperage. Another prime factor is that our generators power our cooling, this is extremely important as most facilities only use there generators and UPS systems for core equipment, we use them for everything guaranteeing that you machines will not only stay online but will keep the proper temperature which is so critical for today’s generation of hardware. 

12,000 Gallon Fuel Reserve

Another primary issue with backup power depending on the scenario is how long the outage can last. At IPSS’s we can run for approximately a week before needing to refuel our generators. Additionally, we have contracts with 3 different local fuel companies to ensure us an ongoing supply if needed. At our colocation facility since everything is setup with complete redundancy, it differentiates us from a lot of providers since we can offer completely redundant power feeds, both being fed from separate PDU’s that are in separate locations coming in via separate risers. If you choose a redundant power feed option, we are able to provide you with a 99.9% SLA on power!

Environment: Precision-controlled air conditioning systems protect and cool mission- critical servers and equipment in the Network Operations Center. The facility is controlled by quad compressor / dual-blower redundant systems. These systems provide a virtually dust-free and particle-free computing environment, with temperature, humidity, and air-quality regulation. Security Restricted access to the Network Operations Center is monitored by qualified personnel 24 hours a day, every day. Visitors and clientele are only allowed on-site if escorted by Network Operations Center staff. The entire Network Operations Center is monitored, ensuring prompt response and thorough coverage to fire or security alarms. We supply all our Network
Operations Center customers with advanced firewall, encryption, intrusion detection and other
security measures.

IPSS Network:

IPSS maintains its own fiber optic network in order to facilitate the growing needs of its hosting clients. Only fully redundant, enterprise-class routing equipment is used in all of our data centers. Additionally, all routing equipment is housed in a secured core routing room and fed by
